Dr. Schonfeld, a native of South Florida, is the senior member of the group and has spent his entire professional career at Gastroenterology Consultants, P.A. He serves as Managing Partner of the group and has functioned in this capacity for more than 20 years. In 2009, he was named one of the best doctors in South Florida by Boca Life magazine. In 2010 and now again in 2011 he has been recognized as one of the best doctors in South Florida by Gold Coast magazine.
Dr. Schonfeld has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career including Chief of Gastroenterology at Memorial Regional Hospital and Hollywood Medical Center. He is a member of the Board of Managers of South Broward Endoscopy, the endoscopic ambulatory surgery center affiliated with the practice.
Dr. Schonfeld has been an active clinical investigator through the affiliated research company, Southern Clinical Research Consultants.
Dr. Schonfeld is a Fellow of both the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians.
