Gastroenterology Consultants, P.A., is a single-specialty, all gastroenterology medical group practice founded more than 40 years ago. The group is currently comprised of eight full-time physicians and one non-physician provider. The physicians in the group are in high demand and enjoy outstanding reputations in the community for quality care. Accordingly, the group plays a dominant role in GI across the east-west corridor of southern Broward County and its members hold leadership roles at all of the hospitals at which they provide services.
Currently, the group has a large east office in the Emerald Hills Professional Park in Hollywood, Florida and an equally large west office in the Sheridan Professional Centre in Cooper City, Florida. The west practice office provides more than twice the space of the previous west satellite office with a more efficient design to facilitate patient access and quality care in either the east or west offices. The long-term plan calls for five physicians to be based in the west office in Cooper City and the other five physicians based in the east office in Hollywood. The entire group's administrative and business infrastructure (administration, billing and collections, contracts, financial management, human resources, operations) is also based in Hollywood in a separate suite adjacent to the east clinical practice office.
South Broward Endoscopy became operational in June, 2005 and is also located in Cooper City at the Sheridan Professional Centre immediately adjacent to the new west practice office. State licensure, AAAHC accreditation and Medicare certification are in place at this time. Since then, SBE has continuously been reaccredited for additional three year periods by AAAHC. A majority of the elective outpatient endoscopic procedures provided by the group's physicians are performed at this facility where patient comfort, safety and convenience are the ultimate goal. The group's physicians now perform approximately 10,000 procedures per year at SBE.
During 2016, each physician in the group achieved an adenoma detection rate (ADR) well above industry averages when performing colonoscopies at SBE.
